Keycon 2020 is very excited to announce that we will be continuing our relationship with Rainbow Resource Centre and having them for our charity again for 2020.
Rainbow Resource Centre has been a great partnership and we are very grateful for the training, education and support they’ve provided us with.
On a more personal note, we’d like to share a couple stories from our Con Chairs on why they mean so much to us.
The Rainbow Resource Centre has also been part of our lives personally. One of our Con Chairs, Phynix, has a teenager that has attended Camp Aurora, as well as utilized the teen drop in centre and feels passionately about this organization.
As for myself, if I had known about and had a place like the Rainbow Resource Centre when I came out at 16, as bisexual, then maybe I would’ve asked that girl out at the weekend camp, but I didn’t because I was afraid of being judged by others. Maybe I wouldn’t have tried to rationalize not asking out other women as anything other than fear. Maybe it would’ve helped me feel the confidence I do today.
If you aren’t already aware of the many amazing resources Rainbow Resource Centre has not only has for adults, but people of all ages. Please check out their website here: https://rainbowresourcecentre.org/
Happy Pride everyone, from our Keycon family to each and every one of you!
