Keycon is Manitoba’s longest-running science fiction and fantasy convention. Over the years, we’ve evolved into so much more, our theme for 2027 is Spectrums of Fandom, celebrating diversity in all aspects of fandom from different types of mediums, abilities, and genres! We’re bringing everyone together under one roof and highlighting how varied our community is in a multi-fandom celebration coming May 21-23rd, 2027 at The Viscount Gort Hotel on 1670 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB.

Keycon 43’s featured charity is New Directions

New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults, and Families Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based organization. We provide a wide range of services and supports. These include everything from day programs to 24/7 staffed residential settings for both adults and children. We also offer cultural and educational programs, job training, therapy, and clinical and counselling services.

1. How can I get a membership?

While memberships will be available at the door, it is suggested that you purchase them in advance. Click on the ‘become a member’ tab on this very website!

2. When is Keycon 43?

Keycon will be back on May 21st – 23rd for the 43rd edition of Keycon, Manitoba’s mixed-media fandom convention!

3. What makes Keycon special?

Keycon is a far more personal experience with unmonetized Guest interaction, themed hospitality suites, and a focus on community and connection. We focus on all aspects of fandom and the fandom community. Check it out!

4. When will guests be announced?

Guests will be announced throughout the year when they confirm their attendance with us.

5. How does Keycon support diversity?

In diverse ways. We are a welcoming community as a whole and our organization takes many steps to make sure everyone feels included. If you have specific questions or concerns, please reach out to us.

6. Do people wear costumes to Keycon?

Some do. We have a thriving cosplay community and a Masquerade on Saturday.

7. Do you serve food?

There is typically a breakfast buffet (for an additional charge), a Banquet, and food at the social. Exact meals change from year to year. In addition, many hospitality suites offer food options.

8. Can I present or host a panel?
